Wondering if artificial intelligence will destroy spirituality?

I have been.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of several controversial innovations right now. Initially, I was concerned about AI versus humans as much of what is talked about is how AI will take away jobs humans have traditionally done. It’s a message of fear that I started to buy into it until I realized that’s the same thing that has been said of almost every technological innovation throughout history.

And, over past decades technology HAS replaced many jobs while simultaneously creating more in new fields. In most cases, technology replaces the lowest level and most mundane jobs on the planet which challenges humans to elevate their intelligence, skills and abilities to grow and do more than perform the same mundane tasks repeatedly.

Knowing fear isn’t the vibration to approach anything, I also sat and contemplated what the value of AI might be to humanity if applied intentionally for our benefit, and how it could be part of our spiritual advancement and elevate consciousness on the planet.

First, let me be clear that while I see many applications of AI as beneficial, I’m not a fan of transhumanism. Humans are unique and hybridizing ourselves with machines and computer chips does not feel like a natural way to evolve. It feels like a way to bring extinction to humans. I have images of the Borg (from Star Trek) pop into my mind, and if you find this topic curious, I invite you to go watch the episodes with the Borg in them, as the show covers the implications of combining man and machine

Second, my exploration into this topic has just begun, and as AI advances, which it is rapidly doing since it has been built generatively, my viewpoint may evolve, or even change altogether. Right now though, I see it as a way to free ourselves from repetitive, mundane tasks that suck our precious time, as well as give access to once complex processes and tools to a broader range of people.

Examples of common business tasks I am looking into using an AI agent to handle:

  • Email management
  • Social media posting
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Copywriting and proofreading
  • New client onboarding
  • Ad targeting
  • Contract writing and review
  • Organizing daily workflow
  • Tracking tasks
  • Notetaking, summarizing and making follow up to do list
  • Project management

For a business owner, there are so many things AI agents can assist with, however, I would still require my Virtual Assistant to manage my AI agents and to do those tasks that are one-time only or the agents aren’t programmed to do.

Personally, here are some of the items I’m exploring having an AI agent assist with:

  • Healthy meal planning and making grocery lists
  • Crafting a plan and tracking my exercises
  • Tracking and giving reminders when to handle household chores such as watering plants, replacing air filters, having the HVAC tuned, etc.
  • Research trip items such as flights, hotels, transportation, entertainment, Restaurants and put together travel itineraries
  • Edit and organize photos and videos
  • Provide article and book summaries
  • Create unique outfits from clothing I already own

I see all of these items as things I would love to be able to do myself, but I haven’t prioritized them. With the help of AI agents, I could do all the things I have been wanting to without the burnout.

The main benefit to having a way to quickly and inexpensively get things done that you’ve been wanting to focus on for years, is that the space in your mind that’s been mulling those over is now freed up for more important thoughts. And the time spent doing those tasks, or thinking about doing them someday, is also freed up.

All this extra time gives you the space to just be; to cultivate a spiritual practice; to delve more into your passions; and to express yourself creatively which ultimately enhances your consciousness. It also allows you to choose where to focus your energy more hours of the day.

If this scenario is how using AI plays out for me, and for you, we will be choosing to use our newfound time to be expanding our consciousness more and more. We will also have the opportunity to raise our vibration more and more.

Should we use our freed up energy and time to walk more frequently on our spiritual path then AI will be an acceleration tool for humanity’s spiritual advancement. If we spin in fear or give our inherent power over to AI then we will be using it detrimentally.

As with most things in the Earth plane, there is a light side and a shadow side to everything.

I’m curious, how are you feeling about AI? Are you concerned? Intrigued? Both?

Would love to hear your thoughts and feelings.
